Springtime Strawberry Picking
From mid-April to early-June, it is strawberry season at Porter Farms & Nursery! You are invited to bring the whole family for a special farm outing in our strawberry fields - where the ones you eat in the fields are free! Two locations in Willow Spring and Raleigh, NC.
You'll find five luscious acres of sweet red ripe strawberries... ready for picking! Porter Farms provides and prices by the container: Quarts, 4 qt Buckets, and 8 qt Flats.
Old-Timey Homemade Ice Cream Parlor
Our Willow Spring Market makes mouths happy with our delicious homemade Ice Cream.People drive from miles away to get a hand-dipped scoop of our rich and creamy ice cream made from the freshest dairy and fruits picked at the peak of ripeness. We make 16 seasonal flavors - all homemade in our ice cream kitchen by our highly trained ice cream chefs using special recipes developed by the farmer's wife. Our strawberry ice cream is made from the juiciest and sweetest strawberries picked straight from our fields and our vanilla is made from 100% pure vanilla.
16 Seasonal Flavors for Scoops, Shakes, and SundaesSavor a single scoop or add toppings to create your own sundae or to use as mix-ins in our famous super-thick shakes. Bust that diet wide open with our delectable hot fudge brownie sundaes or our strawberry shortcake sundaes. Made From Happy Cows
The dairy for our naturally organic ice cream is provided by our friends at Jackson Dairy Farm, a family-owned dairy farm since 1806. Jackson Dairy Farm keeps happy cows, treated with kindness and respect. Cows are fed the finest grain and graze on grass from organic fields.
Spring and Summer Produce
Use our Crop Calendar for your in-season guide to freshness. The varieties of NC produce offered at our farm market are selected for taste, not shelf life. Our customers enjoy over 11 different varieties of lip smacking heirloom and hybrid tomatoes. Three varieties of strawberries are offered as well as several varieties of super sweet corn, delicious okra, squash, peaches, cantaloupe, watermelon, peppers, peas and beans, potatoes and onions, and cucumbers.
Pumpkins and Mums
The fall season in North Carolina doesn't just mean time for football. Porter Farms & Nursery knows it's time to harvest the pumpkins! In addition to selling at our Farm Market on Hwy 42 in Willow Springs, Porter Farms retails our mums and pumpkins at the Raleigh Farmers Market during September and October. Porter farms has been recognized for excellence in its ability to grow fall produce:

You'll find the largest selection of pumpkins and ornamental gourds in Raleigh. Our pumpkin patch boasts Atlantic Giants, Howden Biggie, Magic Lantern, Cinderella, Autumn Gold, Gold Rush, Lumina, Indian River, Sugar Pie, Baby Boos, and Jack-Be-Little.
In addition, our roadside stand is blooming with a dazzling array of garden mums grown to complement the harvest season's bounty.
